Itinerary
Day 1
TANGIER, CHAOUEN (BLUE CITY)
Depart for Chefchaouen, known as the “Blue City”. Explore the picturesque streets and souks of this charming mountain town.
Once we have explored the historic centre of the city, we will stay in our charming hotel or riad.
Day 2
Tangier – Asilah
After breakfast, we will leave for the small coastal town of Asilah, stopping at the Caves of Hercules and Cape Spartel, the northernmost tip of the African continent. We will continue our route to the small coastal town of Asilah. The walls surrounding the city were built by Alfonso V of Portugal in the 15th century. Ancient cannons remain in the seaside area. At the Sea Gate, next to the square Portuguese tower that dominates the entire city, is the Sidi Ali Ben Hamdush square, whose interior is dedicated to exhibitions. Next to the sea is the Hispano-Moorish mansion known as the El Raisuni palace, today a cultural palace. The medina is made up of very clean and quiet white houses with very colorful mural paintings, the public lighting is original “the Arcila lantern” and the houses are being renovated with a beautiful neo-Arabic design. The paving of the streets is the work of local artists. Standing out by the sea is an ancient Muslim cemetery with multicoloured ceramic tombs, and the mausoleum of Sidi Ahmed el-Mansur, a Saudi who reconquered the city after the Battle of the Three Kings. Day 3
Asilah – Tetouan – Chefchaouen
After breakfast, we begin our journey to Chefchaouen or Chaouen, as many call it, located in the only intercontinental natural park declared a natural biosphere reserve. It is a town perched on the mountain painted in white and blue, populated by wise, kind and respectful people, and which offers visitors beautiful urban landscapes, precious samples of local crafts, and a peace and serenity that is difficult to find today. Day 4
Chefchaouen – Volubilis – Moulay Idriss – Meknes
We leave the rich world of Chefchaouen and head towards Meknes, the smallest of the imperial cities. Along the way we will visit the well-preserved Roman ruins of Volubilis. We will also get a panoramic view of Moulay Idriss, the holy city. In the afternoon we will arrive in Meknes to enjoy the sunset while visiting the walls and gates of its medina or simply having welcome tea in the riad. Overnight in riad.
Day 5
Meknes – Fez
After breakfast we will leave for Fez. We will arrive in Fez and have free time to walk around and start getting to know the city.

Day 6
Visit the Medina and the Monuments of Fez
After a delicious breakfast at the riad, we begin our guided tour of the new part of the city of Fez, where we will visit the Royal Palace, the Jewish quarter (Mellah) and then we will go to a viewing point where we can observe the entire medina from the South Tower. Afterwards, we will walk through the medina, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO. Its labyrinthine streets structured by guilds of potters, dyers…etc., the bustle of its people will transport us centuries back. We will notice that it is a medieval city and that time has stopped on the clock “la Magana Bounania” 1,200 years after its construction. A marvel! Accommodation in a riad.


Day 7
Fez – Ifrane – Monkey Forest – Midelt – Merzouga
After breakfast we will pick you up at your hotel and head towards Midelt, known for its apple growing. On our way we will pass through Ifrane, the “Moroccan Switzerland” and the Forest of the Great Cedars, also known for being inhabited by several families of monkeys, which is located near the city of Azrou and we will stop to see them and feed them. We will pass through Midelt and then head towards Merzouga, the desert. In the afternoon we will arrive in Merzouga. Transfer to the riad where you will spend the night. Free time for a first contact with the dunes. Accommodation in a riad very close to the dunes.
Day 8
Merzouga – Khamlia – Camel tour and night in Nomadic Khaimas
We are now in the desert and today will be a day of total desert. After a delicious breakfast, we will go around the Erg Chebbi, an extension of the sand desert where the Great Dune of Morocco is located, more than 250 meters high, and we will arrive at the village of Khamlia, originally from Mali, where we will relax with a tea while enjoying a small concert of spiritual Gnawa music. Return to the hotel to go out on camels to enter the heart of the dunes and contemplate an unforgettable sunset. We will arrive with the camels to the camp where we will stay in khaimas. Dinner and night in haimas in the heart of the desert, under a spectacular blanket of stars.
Day 9
Merzouga Desert – Rissani Market – Todra Gorges – Dades Valley
“Date with the Dawn”: since you are in the desert, it is advisable to get up early to walk to the highest dune around the camp to enjoy the sunrise and the relaxing landscape that nature offers us. We will return by camel to the town of Merzouga. After a delicious breakfast, we will say goodbye to the desert and leave for Rissani, where we will visit its market. We will continue the road to Erfoud where there is also the possibility of visiting the fossilized marble factory before continuing towards the palm groves of Touroug and Tinjdad. Later we will arrive at the Todra Gorges. The Todra River has formed a gorge with vertical walls of enormous proportions and great beauty; it is a paradise for climbers and a unique place. A half-hour walk is recommended to see and enjoy the Gorges in detail. In the afternoon we will continue towards the Dades Valley, also known as the Valley of figs and passing through Boumalne Dades we will stop at the “monkey paws”. Dinner and overnight in the Dades Gorges.
Day 10
Dades Valley – Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate
After breakfast we will leave for Ouarazate, also known as the gateway to the desert. There you can visit the film studios if you wish. Later you will visit the beautiful Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and where such well-known films as Gladiator, Kingdom of Heaven or The Jewel of the Nile have been filmed. After the visit we will return to Ouarzazate to spend the night.


Day 11
Ouarzazate – Essaouira
After breakfast, we will leave for Essaouira, the ancient Mogador. Built by the Portuguese on a narrow peninsula next to a huge crescent of fine sand, from the top of the Skala you can see the fishing port, the fortresses and the Spanish cannons. The city is largely pedestrianised and is divided into different districts by its grid-like layout. Essaouira is also famous for its fine craftsmanship, especially objects made of thuja wood interspersed with lemon wood, ebony, mother-of-pearl or copper or silver threads. If you like fish, you will enjoy a tasty meal at the port. Overnight in riad.
Day 12
Essaouira – Marrakech
Free day to enjoy the city, the sea and the beach. In the afternoon we will return to Marrakech to spend the night. Accommodation in riad.
Day 13
Marrakech – Ouzoud Waterfalls – Marrakech
Excursion to Ouzoud to visit the most famous waterfalls in Morocco, near a village of the same name. Its impressive 100 meters of height are what give strength to the waters of the river el-Abid. We will return to Marrakech in the afternoon. Accommodation in riad.
Day 14
Marrakech
After breakfast you will have a guided tour of Marrakech to see all the historical and cultural sights including the Menaret Koutoubia; the Saadian Tombs; the beautiful Bahia Palace and the Ben Youssef Koranic School. Finally, you can finish the morning walking through the narrow streets of the medina, opportunity to admire the different artisans doing their trades before reaching the famous Jamaa El Fna square. After dinner you will have the option to walk around the square and see the magicians, storytellers and food vendors. Overnight in a riad.
