Itinerary
Day 1
Casablanca – Rabat
Arrival in Casablanca, visit to the Hassan II mosque, the largest temple in the world after the mosque in Mecca.
Departure to Rabat, after an hour and a half drive arrival to the imperial city of Rabat to visit the Mausoleum of Mohammed V and the Hassan Tower.
Night in a charming riad.
Day 2
Rabat – Meknes – Roman Ruins of Volubilis – Fez
After breakfast, we will visit Meknes, a city that reached its peak thanks to Sultan Moulay Ismail. 27 km from Meknes are the ruins of the Roman city of Volubilis.
After visiting the Roman ruins, we will head towards Fez.
Arrival in Fez, night in a charming riad.
Day 3
Guided tour of the medina of Fez (Old Town of Fez)
After breakfast, guided tour of the city. A day dedicated to discovering the intellectual city of the kingdom. There are many monuments to visit: Medersas (Koranic schools), Souks, Fes El-Jedid, the Karaouine Mosque (the first university in the world) and the famous Chouwara tannery of Fez.
We will head south through the Middle Atlas, stopping in Ifrane, known as “The Switzerland of Morocco”, famous for its alpine architecture. We will continue towards the Azrou Cedar Forest, home of the famous Barbary apes.
Overnight and dinner in a charming hotel in Midelt.
Day 4
Merzouga desert
We will leave Midelt in the morning, passing through the Ziz palm valley until we reach the Merzouga Desert, where
we will have an exciting camel ride and spend the night in a khaima camp within the desert dunes.
Day 5
MERZOUGA – TODRA GORGE – DADES VALLEY
Today we will have the opportunity to live an unforgettable experience watching the sunrise over the sea of dunes in the desert. After breakfast we will return to Merzouga on camels and after a shower we will leave for Tinghir, “the city of the mountain” in Berber, another beautiful Berber village where we will delight in the contrast of its palm groves and its pink-painted houses.
We will continue the route to the Todra Gorges, formed by rock walls of more than 200m high and with a clear and crystalline river that runs through it. After visiting it, we will head towards the Dades Valley, a Berber village also famous for its high gorges, its beautiful landscapes and its views of the Atlas. Night and dinner in a charming hotel.
Day 6
DADES VALLEY – OUARZAZATE – AIT BEN HADDOU – MARRAKECH
We will cross the Dades Valley and the Valley of Roses until we reach the cities of Ouarzazate, we will visit the Kasbah of Ait Ben Haddou, a spectacular village of clay and stone with buildings surrounded by large walls, an aspect that makes it one of the most beautiful places in Morocco, it was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO and is also famous for being the setting for blockbuster films such as the Oscar-winning “Lawrence of Arabia”, “The Sheltering Sky” and “Babel”.
We will continue to Puerto del Tichka, the highest mountain pass in Morocco, with more than 2,260 meters of height and impressive views that will lead us to the “Red City” of Marrakech. Night in a charming riad.
Day 7
Visit of Marrakech
After breakfast, we will visit the city of Marrakech. There are many monuments to visit: Bahia Palace, Yamaa el Fna Square, Saadian Tombs, souks and the Koutoubia Mosque. Free afternoon and night in a charming riad.
Day 8
MARRAKECH – ESSAOUIRA
Essaouira is a relaxed and peaceful Moroccan town located in the west of Morocco. It is the perfect place to relax and take a break from the hustle and bustle of Marrakech. In the Berber language, Essaouira means ‘wall’ and travellers from all over the world do not miss the opportunity to explore this beautiful city, its special climate and its delicious fresh seafood.
Our two-day excursion from Marrakech to Essaouira starts at your Riad, where we will pick you up to begin the journey through the attractive Moroccan valleys bathed by orange trees, olive groves and farms. Once you arrive in Essaouira, you will be amazed by the contrast of its medina bordered by walls and occupied by bazaars that are easy to navigate. Its surprising beaches are the ideal place to practice surfing. Visiting the port is a must, you will feel like you are travelling back in time and going back in time. Overnight in a charming hotel.
Day 9
ESSAOUIRA – MARRAKECH
After breakfast in your riad, free time to explore other alleys in Essaouira and enjoy lunch at your favorite spot. Return to Marrakech and overnight in a charming Riad.
Day 10
MARRAKECH – AIRPORT TRANSFER
After breakfast and at the agreed time, transfer to Marrakech airport.
